Are you exploring your next career step in virology?
The German Young Society of Virology (jGfV) Working Group ACHIEVE (Academy for Clinical and Experimental Virology) offers an inspiring and practical workshop designed to help late-stage PhD students (3rd year or later), postdoctoral researchers, and early-career MDs (before board certification) navigate diverse career paths in virology.
The two-day workshop will feature an inspiring career session with expert pitches from diverse fields, spanning academia, industry, clinical work, diagnostics, start-ups, and dual-career paths. You’ll have the chance to get your burning questions answered and leave with a personal career action plan. A key focus will be on crafting a strong CV for academia or industry. Learn what makes a CV stand out, in academia vs. industry and get practical tips to showcase your skills and experience effectively. The workshop also covers grants and pitches, providing an overview of funding opportunities, tips for securing money in the post-pandemic era, and guidance on crafting strong proposals and shaping your ideas for successful applications.
Join the ViroCareer Compass workshop in Heidelberg to explore academic, industry and diagnostics career paths, boost your CV, get guidance on your first grant, and learn about funding opportunities for virologists!
